Dr. Shelly Flais is the author of the American Academy of Pediatrics book, "Raising Twins," as well as co-editor of the AAP's "The Big Book of Symptoms." She is a board-certified pediatrician, wife, and mother of four, including identical twin boys. Dr. Flais is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and promotes a realistic approach to parenting, based on her experience raising her four children, all born within the span of four years. A practicing pediatrician in the Chicago area, she is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics with Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Flais is the proud recipient of the 2016 Distinguished Pediatric Academic Contributed Service Award from the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Department of Pediatrics, Northwestern University.
In addition to her AAP book, Dr. Flais has written for "Twins" and "Chicago Parent" magazines. She has been interviewed for "Parents," "Parenting," and "Healthy Children," as well as various radio and TV outlets.
